Shruti & Bittoo - They're very mazedaar ;-)

Anushka Sharma discovered Delhi while shooting for her movie, 'Band Baaja Baarat', in which she plays a DU girl. She says she loves the city because there's a certain energy about the capital and people here have no pretenses.

Despite the autumn season, which is slowly creeping in, and the squall in Delhi on Friday, it's still very hot. So, when the cast and director of Yash Raj Films' upcoming " Band Baaja Baarat" came to town recently, they were still in their summer gear and trying to beat the noonday October heat. Maybe that was why they loved the metal sippers from the TOI Collectables range, which co-stars Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh carried around .

Not that the two are strangers to Delhi – director Maneesh Sharma's shot the film largely in Delhi, at locations like Janakpuri, DU, Subhash Place and DDA market. He says that Anushka and Ranveer's characters, both wedding planners, are very Delhi people and "extremely badtameez, woh bilkul ghatiya dhang se ek doosre se baat karte hain. They're very mazedaar – jo ladka "bread pakore ki kasam" bolta hai, woh mazedaar hi toh hoga." Anushka plays a Ramjas girl, and says she actually loves Delhi. "I love the city because there's a certain energy here; people speak in a very endearing manner and are very informal. There's no pretence, and everyone's very warm. And oh God, the food is so awesome! We were at IIT Delhi for their fest, Maneesh, Ranveer, me and the team, and we were eating like crazy people!" she laughs

She and Maneesh, especially, are great friends – such great friends, in fact, that they fight a lot. When asked if Anushka is feisty like her character, Maneesh says gravely, "Anushka is extremely feisty. That's a side you never get to see of her. I'll give her a "Catwoman" or a "Kill Bill" role someday – then people will get to see what we see every day!" But he added, "She and I have been friends for a long time, and we have a very comfortable love-hate relationship – more hate and less love from her side!"

When on the sets did she show him that feisty side? "Anushka is an extremely natural actress, so when you ask her for take three and tell her ki lighting off tha ya focus mein problem tha, she doesn't like it because she's already given her best take," he says. "Yeah," Anushka agrees, "I can't rehearse too many times or I get bored."
