Anushka say, Maneesh is a good Director and one of the close friend of mine, because I know her from the "Rab ne Bana di Jodi" days. As he is only one who took my screen test. But on the sets of "Band Baaja Baaraat" he was really strict. He just hated it if I and Ranveer were fooling on the set of 'BBB.

She adds, "Even if she used to giggle, he used to say stop all this and concentrate on your work.But, then also i had a great time working with him on 'BBB' because he's a friend and I share a good comfort zone with him."

Director Maneesh Sharma is from Delhi. He has an intrinsic connection to the city and somehow knew he had to make a movie there. The DOP, writer, production designer and 4 ADs are all from Delhi too. The costume designer Niharika Khan sourced all the film’s costumes in Delhi. BBB was filmed in many interesting locations of Delhi. Nearly 6000 local people watched the Janakpuri shoot of the film.

The cast and crew were filming a scene extremely late one night. The late shooting timings meant shops had to be kept closed-this was making a wine shop owner extremely furious. The owner threatened to disrupt the shoot and come in front of the camera. He only relented when Ranveer Singh went upto him and said “Please sir let us shoot. This is my first film and very important for my career.” The owner then melted and let the cast and crew shoot all night long!

Don't Take Away My Credit

Ranveer Singh says, the rumour that his father has invested in his debut film, Band Baaja Baaraat' is false. For 3 years I was struggling to become an actor before i got my first break. And finally One day I got a Call from Yash Raj Films to give an Audition for a Leading role at Yash Raj Studio. It was Unbelievable!

Producer Aditya Chopra and Director Maneesh Sharma Liked my acting but a question was running in their Mind can i dance? As 'Band Baaja Baaraat' was a Peppy Musical movie...Then again after two days i went back at the studio and shaked leg on 'My name is Lakhan' and 'Chaiya Chaiya...'Maneesh liked the Rhythm in my Dance. And fortunately, I got lucky to bag this role with an A-list film with one of the biggest banners.”It’s being said that his debut film is being financed by his father. He says, “This is my biggest achievement yet and no one can take the credit away from me. It’s not cool and hurts my dad who’s proud that I made it on my own.”

I am playing a wedding planner in my first film and i think for a great wedding you first need to get the menu right. In my case, that would mean ‘bharpur’ of non-vegetarian dishes, including my favorite Butter Chicken. “I’ll probably get married on a beach because I love sea".

I just switched my Profession from Copywriter to actor just to pursue my Childhood Dream. When I was in Indiana University in Bloomington doing my BA “I performed a scene from an old Bollywood film and though most of the American students present didn’t understand a word, but they clapped enthusiastically and I knew then that this was it".

He is Playing the character of Delhi boy in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, But he is a Pakka Bandra boy. After completing his junior college from HR. He went to US to do his BA from Indiana University in Bloomington. After returning from US, for 3 years he was struggling to become an actor before he got his first break 'Band Baaja Baaraat'.

Ranveer says, "From childhood he wanted to become an actor. He knew that he had to do something related to performing arts and enjoyed acting the most as it is incorporate so many different art forms. He knew getting a break was not at all easy as he was not from any filmy family. For few Years he worked with Advertising Agency as a copywriter with top agencies like O&M and JWT. But it was never a Perfect Decision and he felt that pursuing any career other than acting will be the biggest compromise of his life"

Anushka is really excited and confident about her movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat', which has managed to create good buzz in the shortest time possible.

"The theatrical promo got a very good response and now the songs have started coming in as well," she says, "With the kind of response we are getting for the song Ainvayi Ainvayi, I am becoming far more confident with every passing day that we are doing our job well in making the audience happy and curious".

Anushka in a Quick run has worked with some established actors, but this is the first time she is working with a total newcomer Ranveer Singh.

Despite being a newcomer she says, "Ranveer did a great Job and met all the Expectations".

Anushka says, "Ranveer had to be a very good actor because this is what the character of Bittoo Sharma demanded, he had to deliver well and fast and he did it. I am glad and lucky that Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma found their protagonists in Ranveer and Me."

'Band Baaja Baaraat' Music Released

Shruti (Anushka Sharma) is a 20-something no-nonsense girl from a middle class Delhi household. Focused and determined with preplanned ambitions, her goals in life are well laid out by the time she reaches her final year of college. Bittoo (Ranveer Singh), on the other hand, has no real aim in life. As a final year college student of Delhi University, he whiles away his life having fun with his buddies, barely scraping through his exams.

Together, their friendship and business, enters the ups and downs of the lavish Delhi weddings. And while trying to find themselves, Shruti and Bittoo discover each other and realize that in the course of their journey, unke khud ke rules ki bajegi band!
